FOTD - Aromaleigh Day 4

Today you are lucky enough to have two looks in one. I did a very dramatic blue smoky eye, and in my opinion I would probably only do my make up like this for a special occasion, or night out. I've also shown how it's very easy to tone down your make up and keep the same blue smoky eye, but wearable for daytime. All I used was my finger behind a face wipe!

Halloween Nails!

Hey everyone, so as it's almost Halloween I thought I'd make a start with my nails to celebrate the occasion!

So far I have only finished one thumbnail but I thought I'd give you a sneak preview. Each nail will have a different face! You've probably guessed it by now - pumpkins!!

It's not perfect but then I was never really a great artist. Although I will finish cleaning up before Halloween actually arrive. At the moment you can see it's a bit messy! But hey it's late and I wanna go to bed :)

FOTD - Aromaleigh Day 3

Today I chose pink! October is breast cancer awareness month so thought I should fit a pink look in at some point. I chose a slightly smoky look...a mixture of brights and darks. You can also add a bit more depth with the black and then it will be perfect for halloween!

I used:

FACE

No.7 Shine Free Primer
New ID I-Conceal
Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in Soft Beige
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Silky Beige
No.7 Cheek Tint in Maple Silk

EYES

Benefit Eye Bright
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Aromaleigh Pure Eyes Frost in Baby - inner third of eye
Aromaleigh Les Papillons in Flutterby - middle third of eye
Aromaleigh Les Papillons in Crimson Mimicry - outer third of eye
Aromaleigh Victoria's Revenge in Nightshade #56 - crease
Aromaleigh Les Papillons in Air & Light - brow highlight & inner corners
No.7 Exceptional Definition Mascara in Black
Rimmel Kohl Eye Pencil in Black

LIPS

Rimmel Vinyl Jelly Lip Liner in Starlet
No.7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Nude Rebellion
The Body Shop Lip Butter - Papaya

What do you think? I don't often use all pink eyeshadows as sometimes they can wash you out if the colour is quite close to your skin tone.

FOTD - Aromaleigh Day 1

I've had many Aromaleigh eyeshadows for a while now but still haven't found the time to properly experiment. So over the next 7 days I am going to use only Aromaleigh eyeshadow!! I probably have around 80 sample baggies so I should easier be able to come up with plenty of different looks - I will try not to do a green look straight away - but I do think perhaps they suit my brown eyes...

Anyway to start with here is today's look in stages:

 Primer (which I rubbed in!)

 Mineral foundation

 Bronzer

 Mineral blusher

 First eyeshadow colour

 Second eyeshadow colour

 Third eyeshadow colour

Mascara, eyeliner & lipgloss - finished look

Close up of my right eye

New ID I-Shadow Quad With Mirror

Another New ID product review - I really am so glad I bought these items - I don't think there's one I don't like. But I'm trying to use them as much as possible to give a fair review.

I won't say too much about the packaging this time because it matches the other items, so you can view my previous post here.

Again it has a similar size mirror to the previuos product so this is also in the previous post.

I aminly want to talk about the colours of this quad and the burshes today, the brushes really surprised me. Most of the time when you buy a makeup product and they include brushes, they're really rubbish...unless you're shedding out a lot of money for a product. Which is possibly the case on this occasion. I don't normally like the sponge tip applicators for eyeshadow but I found it smoothed the eyeshadow on really well and gave an immediate blended effect, rather than sharp edges. The other brush however had a pointed brush so that you could create bold lines and sharp edges where necessary. And the other end was a pencil brush, for fine detail, such as applying the eyeshadow underneath your eye - something I found very easy with this brush.

The colours all compliment each other really well, none of them are too similar or too different. I like the fact there is one shimmery colour and two very neutral colours. The darker brown is perfect for a smokey eye and this is my "go to" quad for a neutral "during the day" smoky eye.

I would recommend this to anyone who loves wearing neutral/brown eyeshadow. I think they did other colours too but can't remember. Check out their website for more information.

NOTD - Models Own Navy & Silver

This is my version of the half moon manicure, view Dita Von Teese's version here. I am really trying to use as many of my new nail polishes as possible, without changing my polish too often, and doing the same designs over and over...hopefully you like this even though this trend started back in May 2009! I used In The Navy and Sterling Silver. They are available on the website for £5 each or buy 3 - save £3, buy 5 - save £7.

FOTD - more green!!

Hey everyone, hope you're all ok. I have spent time doing a few posts tonight - so that means I can post them when I find myself with no time! Which seems to have happened a lot these last 7 days. It seems I have had a desire for green recently. This is today's FOTD and I've used a few products I haven't tried very often...to see if they are good or not...or if I'm undecided, as is the case today with one product.

I also tried to do a few different style pictures today - the first is my with just my "face" make up done. I don't look too pale, and obviously the concealer on my lips is so that the true colour of the lipstick/gloss shows up.

The next picture is a side view of the finished look...I think this shows off the blusher a bit better than normal.

I used:

FACE

No.7 Shine Free Primer
No.7 Dual Protection Tinted Moisturiser in Medium
No.7 Perfect Light Pressed Powder in Medium
No.7 Cheek Tint in Maple Silk (to keep a flushed look all day)
No.7 Mineral Perfection Blusher in Soft Damson
Benefit It Stick Concealer (used on corners of nose, lips and underneath eyes)

EYES

Benefit Eye Bright (used on the inner corners)
Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
Aromaleigh Hot In The City Collection - Italian Ice - inner corners
Aromaleigh Hot In The City Collection - Coney Island - middle
Aromaleigh Les Papillions Collection - Zephyr's Breeze - outer corners
Benefit Bad Gal Eye Pencil in Black (lower waterline)
Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express Mascara (this is the product I'm still undecided on...)

LIPS

Rimmel Sweet Jelly Sheer Lipgloss in Tutti Frutti

A picture of both eyes looking down so that you can see how I've blended the colours a bit better than a front eye shot

And finally the usual up close eye shot

Let me know what you think of my new style pictures, I'd be interested to know what you think works best.

New ID I-Bronze - Compact Powder Bronzer With Mirror

I've only had one bronzer before this one, from Avon - so I haven't seen many - but this is definitely my favourite so far. I bought it from New ID Studios in London, at £23.50 it's not exactly cheap. Read on to find out why I think it's worth every penny! The make up artist suggested I get the shade "Rio" which is great for my skin tone, I don't often go anywhere with make up artists so probably end up buying the wrong shade from time to time.

The packaging is lovely and sleek, starting with the white and silver outer cardboard box. Then a matching white and silver plastic compact. The font is lovely and it's very different from what you see in the shops. The compact clips shut and is quite durable. I carry it around in my handbag and it hasn't broken yet - always a bonus!

I even like the fact it has a perfect sized mirror, not too small you can't see yourself, but also just small enough so that you can take it anywhere with you. I'm quite glad it didn't come with a brush - they're not normally great quality brushes when you get them for "free". I find I only need a light dusting to provide me with a glow, and with a 9g pot this should last me a long time.

That's not the only reason I think it is worth the money. It's so pretty! Lots of colour swirled in a circle. If you have a bronzer with a few differents shades in it, it will give you a more natural glow. Which is what we're all after really, right? The only thing that makes it look like you have make up on is because it is slightly shimmery - see the picture below where I have applied some on my arm to show you what it looks like. But I love it so much! I'm so glad I went with my instinct and bought it.

What new items do you like lately? Let me know!

Updated: Models Own Green Flash

I thought I'd bring you more pictures showing how I updated the mani with black nail art.

They look a bit like little snowflakes to me - except they're black. It's cold out - but still a bit too early for snow!
