Imogen Heap FOTD

This was the look I wore Friday night but I didn't have time to post it as I had to catch a train. I went to see Imogen Heap in The Royal Albert Hall in London. She was amazing!! First she conducted an orchestra, who played music to a series of "earth" videos. The she performed her own songs - as voted by the fans!

I wanted a soft neutral look and I think I achieved that.

Nail Inc (Glamour Freebie)

I am a subscriber to Glamour magazine and on 30th October I received a freebie I wasn't expecting. A Nails Inc Nail Polish. This is the third one in three years so I suppose in a way I should have expected it! Not bad when I only pay £10 a year for the subscription though (I have been a subscriber for years and the price has stayed the same!!)

This year I've become a lot more interested in nails and make up instead of just clothes - which is the main reason I started my blog. I'm just starting to experiment really and although I'm not a pro like other beauty bloggers I will do looks that are fun and simple to recreate. So for this reason I decided, as with the Benefit product freebies, I would try and get each shade of nail polish. At the moment I have Warwick Avenue (which came in the post), Jermyn Street and Hempstead Heath. I'm on the lookout for the last shade, I've heard it's a dark red...

Anyway, today I'm posting my current mani - Jermyn Street. And my oh my does this look much better than I thought it would. Such a perfect Autumn shade. Neutral but by no means boring - see for yourself!!

Neon Blue & Yellow FOTD

Last night I attended a work leaving do with my partner and decided to do a bright, eye-catching (get it?) look! I wore black jeans, a black and white top, with a blue scarf and silver heels, silver headband and silver earrings - see a small pic below.

You'll have to excuse the little bit of eyeshadow that fell onto my nose that I clearly didn't notice until I finished taking pictures!!

Fyrinnae Lip Lustres

A few months ago, around the same time that I bought my Aromaleigh stuff I purchased a few bits from Fyrinnae. I think this was probably beause Sirvinya, an experienced beauty blogger was raving about Pixie Epoxy, and I thought I'd try a few other bits too. Plus my partner is always moaning that my lips are sticky when I have lipgloss on!

I can no longer find them on the website, so can only assume they've stopped doing them? Let me know if that's not the case - as I'd like to purchase a few more colours really! I suppose that sums up what I think of them already lol.

I love that they give a lot of colour to your lips and are slightly shimmery. I also love that they are scented, I think Bare Shoulders was cafe latte, and Trickster was mint, but as they're no longer on the website I can't tell you what the others are, but they smell amazing!! You don't need to use too much of it to get a good coating on your lips, meaning even the mini sizes are perfect. Great for evening handbags/clutches too! I don't know what I'd do without these and am so glad I purchased them when I did if they are now not available...

In the picture above I am wearing Bare Shoulders, it was my "go to" nude shade before I bought No.7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Nude Rebellion. It still is my go to nude shade when I don't a heavy look. For me lipstick can always look quite "made up" - sometimes too much for work hence why I wear this in the offie quite frequently. I love the fact that it still looks shimmery but you can't feel that anything is there, and it really does taste great.

Have you got a great product you use when you find some lip glosses are too "sticky"?

Aromaleigh Series

I thought I'd give you a brief post today of all the Aromaleigh products I used in my series.

Starting from top left is Day 1, down to Day 7 on bottom right. There are 25 eyeshadows here, costing around $17.50, approx £11. Bargain! There are many more than 7 looks you can do with these 25 eyeshadows; you'd be surprised which colours you can mix n match! I'm sure you can tell from my combos.

So today is the last in my series of Aromaleigh looks, but it won't be the last time I use them! It just shows that you don't have to spend much to create so many looks! I can't remember how much I spent exactly but it was only about $1 per sample and even then there was 30% off at the checkout.

FOTD - Aromaleigh Day 6

This series of Aromaleigh looks seems to have gone by really quickly! Today I have a more neutral look, I am still dying to get an UD Naked palette, but haven't got the money at the moment! Although it's a neutral look it shows that they don't have to be boring and I really like the way it turned out, even if I wasn't so sure when I started adding my crease colour.

October Favourites

This month I am doing my favourites on time! I'm also going to start keeping my new products in a separate place for these posts because although I don't buy loads, I tend to forget what is new - and what I love for each respective month!

I am going to extend my post by including two products. One which I think is an essential for Winter is a night moisturiser. During the day we brave the cold weather and it can make our skin really dry. Using a moisturiser at night replenishes your skinn and gives it time to let the cream set in. What I love is that it doesn't make my skin feel greasy or oily and when I wake up in the morning it feels super soft!

I love that the moisturiser is in a very durable pot - it says on the bottom "double wall construction" which makes me feel comfortable in taking it with me anywhere!!

The cream stays relatively cold, which means it always feels refreshing on my skin. I actually look forward to putting this on at night! I loved it so much I purchased the day cream the other day and now use this under my foundation.

My second favourite for this month is a foundation, so both pretty basic products this month. I sometimes struggle to find a foundation that matches my skin tone. This foundation was used on me when I went to London and the fact that the MUA chose this shade means it is right for me. If I'm honest I probably wouldn't have chosen vanilla myself as I normally think of myself as a medium skin tone.

I love the sleek packaging for this product, I've already blogged about another New ID product and all their packaging is pretty much the same - in a good way. View the posts here and here if you're interested.

I do like how the bottle is long and slender, it doesn't puff out my handbags/make up bags when I'm on the go. Also due to the packaging of the foundation itself I don't feel like it will break and leak my foundation everywhere. So this is another product I can trust not to let me down.

I've not had a liquid foundation with a built in brush before. I don't always use a brush - sometimes I just use my fingers - probably because I'm lazy! You only need a few pumps to cover your whole face so I'm hoping it will last a while. It seems to last all day - which for me is from about 6am to 10pm, pretty good staying power if you ask me. Although if I forget to use my primer and powder I do notice my skin doesn't look quite as flawless by the end of the day - although that is to be expected!

Barry M Nail Effects

I spotted this online whilst looking at new Autumn/Winter Barry M shades and got in from Boots the other day for £3.95. I will be using it many times, just to show how versatile it is. I've only used it once, but already I'm in love! I think it will take a few applications to get used to it. Unfortunately I was a little tight for time tonight - hence why I'm posting this so late - so I've gone for a very ordinary white base coat white my black nail effects "cracking" polish on top! I will do a review of it once I've tested it out properly.

What do you think? Have you used something like this yet? Any requests for what colours I should use as a base next - let me know!!
